Ujjain

After a long and arduous journey eastwards from the Misty Isles, Galan arrives at the great city of Ujjain – 'Pearl of India,' home of Princess Mayana, and a renowned center of learning.

Galan, the second son of Prince Valiant and Queen Aleta, has traveled to Ujjain with the Chinese scholar Yuan Chen.

The Return of Karen and Valeta

Many readers no doubt welcomed the recent return to Prince Valiant of Karen and Valeta, the twin daughters of Val and Aleta. Their reintroduction in the June 2, 2013 installment was the first time the twins have been portrayed by artist Thomas Yeates, who in April 2012 became the fourth artist to illustrate the revered adventure strip.


Yet as happy and playful as their return is portrayed, it's soon revealed that all is not well with the daughters of the Prince of Thule and the Queen of the Misty Isles.

Before His Very Eyes . . .

Returning to the Misty Isles to find the beautiful but mysterious Queen Aleta, Prince Valiant witnesses the horrible killing of his entire crew. Unaware that this same crew had recently raided a village on the Misty Isles and slaughtered many of its inhabitants, Prince Valiant concludes that Aleta is ruler of an evil and cruel place.
